Commerce Ministry: Reciprocal Tariff on Cambodia Suspended for 90 Days and Reduced to 10%

The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) of Cambodia has updated the public, businesspersons, and exporters on a temporary subspension of the implementation of the U.S. Reciprocal Tariff on Cambodia for 90 days with a lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period of 10 percent.
“According to a statement from the White House, dated April 9, 2025 (U.S. time), Honorable President Donald J. Trump has authorised a temporary subspension of the implementation of the U.S. Reciprocal Tariff for 90 days with a lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period of 10 percent, effective immediately, for all countries that have officially sought to negotiate a solution with the United States, including Cambodia,” said the MoC in a press release on April 10.
In the case of Cambodia, the source underlined, the Reciprocal Tariff of 49 percent will be reduced to only 10 percent.
The MoC underlined that the Royal Government of Cambodia has received a positive response from the United States following the Kingdom’s official request for negotiation to achieve a mutual solution. This request was formally conveyed through a letter from Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, dated April 4, 2025, as well as a letter from H.E. Mrs. CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, on the same date.
These communications expressed Cambodia’s good faith to negotiate a mutual solution and commitment to immediatly reduce the tariff from 35 to 5 percent on 19 categories of U.S. goods imported into Cambodia, it added.
