Press Statement
The Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts of the Kingdom of Cambodia firmly rejects the recent statements made on February 6, 2026, by H.E. Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Ministry categorically denies the claim that Ta Krabey Temple (referred to by Thailand as Ta Kwai) and the Ta Mone Temple Complex fall under Thai sovereignty.
The Ministry reaffirms that these historical sites are located entirely within the sovereign territory of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This is clearly established by the Franco–Siamese Treaties of 1904 and 1907 and their annexed maps, the same legal foundations upheld by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in its 1962 Judgment concerning the Temple of Preah Vihear.
